AU Small Finance Bank has announced a strategic collaboration with Intellect Design Arena to accelerate its transition into an AI-first bank by adopting Intellect’s Purple Fabric platform, an enterprise-grade Open Business Impact AI platform.

In an exchange filing dated May 19, AU Small Finance Bank said the collaboration is aimed at enabling scalable enterprise-wide artificial intelligence capabilities across customer journeys, operations, and decision-making processes. The bank described the partnership as a key milestone in its long-term digital transformation strategy.

According to the company, AU SFB operates through a network of over 2,790 banking touchpoints across 21 states and four Union Territories, serving more than 1.2 crore customers. The bank said it was seeking a scalable and flexible AI architecture capable of supporting domain-driven innovation and seamless integration with existing technological ecosystems.

Through the adoption of Purple Fabric, AU SFB plans to deploy AI-powered PF Credit agents to automate credit assessments, analyse customer data in real time, and support faster and more consistent lending decisions.

The platform is expected to help the bank:

  • Build and scale domain-specific AI agents across business functions

  • Leverage a multi-model LLM hub with flexibility of model choice

  • Process and operationalise unstructured data at enterprise scale

  • Integrate seamlessly with existing technology ecosystems

  • Establish a future-ready and cost-efficient AI foundation

Sanjay Agarwal, Founder, MD & CEO of AU Small Finance Bank, said the bank aims to embed intelligence into every layer of its business and operations. He added that the Purple Fabric platform offers the flexibility and scale required to strengthen risk assessment capabilities, improve decision-making, and deliver more personalised customer experiences.

Ramanan SV, CEO-India & South Asia at Intellect Design Arena, said the partnership reflects a structured enterprise AI adoption model focused on measurable business outcomes and scalable orchestration capabilities.

AU Small Finance Bank said the collaboration aligns with its broader ambition of becoming an AI-first enterprise while continuing to modernise its commercial banking and lending operations.
