Pune-based Bharat Forge has secured a long-term contract from Embraer for the manufacturing and supply of critical landing gear forgings, marking a major milestone for the company’s aerospace business.
With this agreement, Bharat Forge has become the first Indian supplier to enter Embraer’s global aerospace supply chain for forged components. The company will supply high-integrity forged components for landing gear systems across Embraer’s commercial and defence aircraft programmes.
The development strengthens Bharat Forge’s position in the global aerospace supply chain, particularly in complex and safety-critical components. The company said the contract reflects its growing capabilities in precision manufacturing and aerospace-grade forging.
Amit B Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, said the company becoming the first Indian supplier of forged components for Embraer is a proud moment and a testament to the capabilities built in its aerospace business.
“The fact that BFL is the first Indian supplier of forged components for Embraer is a proud moment & a testament to the capabilities we have built in the Aerospace business and we thank them for the trust they have reimposed on BFL. We look forward to growing and adding value to our association with Embraer in the coming years. These contracts will enable to create scale for critical structural components complementing the scale built in the Aero Engine components space,” Amit B Kalyani said.
Bharat Forge said the long-term engagement with Embraer reflects a shared commitment towards quality, reliability and long-term collaboration. The company added that the contract will be executed in line with global certification standards required for aerospace components.
The agreement is also expected to help Bharat Forge create scale in critical structural components, while complementing the scale it has already built in the aero engine components space.
Overall, the Embraer contract marks an important addition to Bharat Forge’s aerospace portfolio and expands its role in the global supply chain for safety-critical aircraft components.
