Fujiyama Power Systems Limited has commissioned its 2,000 MW solar panel manufacturing facility at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh as part of its broader greenfield manufacturing expansion strategy.
The company said the Ratlam project has been developed to strengthen its integrated solar manufacturing capabilities and support the rapidly growing domestic rooftop solar market. Fujiyama currently offers products across solar panels, inverters, lithium and tubular batteries, chargers and power-electronics systems.
According to the company, the Ratlam facility has been planned with manufacturing capacities of 2,000 MW each for solar panels, batteries and inverters. Initially, the plant will operate at an annualised capacity of around 1,000 MW under a single-shift model, with phased ramp-up planned over the coming quarters. The company expects the facility to achieve full capacity utilisation through double-shift operations by Q4FY27.
Following the commissioning of the Ratlam solar panel manufacturing facility, Fujiyama’s total solar panel manufacturing capacity has increased to 3,568 MW.
The company also provided an update on its inverter and battery manufacturing lines at the same facility. Fujiyama said the commissioning timelines for these capacities faced delays due to the incorporation of newer lithium-ion battery technologies and geopolitical disruptions impacting supply timelines during execution.
However, with these challenges largely addressed, the inverter manufacturing line is now expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of FY27. Machinery for the inverter line has already been received at the facility. Meanwhile, machinery orders for the battery manufacturing line have been placed, and commissioning is expected during the second quarter of FY27.
Commenting on the development, Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Fujiyama Power Systems, said the commissioning of the Ratlam facility marks an important milestone in the company’s manufacturing expansion journey.
He added that the greenfield project would strengthen Fujiyama’s ability to serve the fast-growing rooftop solar market with improved manufacturing scale, operational efficiencies and greater control across the value chain.
The expansion comes at a time when India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem is witnessing rapid capacity additions driven by rising domestic demand, government-backed renewable energy initiatives and increasing focus on localisation of solar supply chains.
