Gopal Snacks Ltd has resumed operations at its Rajkot main manufacturing facility after completing reinstatement work following the fire incident that impacted the plant in December 2024.
In an exchange filing and press release dated May 11, 2026, the company said the Rajkot facility has recommenced manufacturing operations after obtaining the necessary approvals from relevant government authorities.
The company stated that the plant had remained non-operational after the fire incident, but restoration work has now been completed, allowing operations to restart.
Gopal Snacks said the reinstatement of the corporate office and other support facility buildings affected by the fire is still in progress. However, the company clarified that this will not impact operational requirements at the Rajkot facility.
The Rajkot plant will operate with an installed capacity of 1,05,233 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA). The facility manufactures a diversified portfolio including gathiya, namkeen, snack pellets and extruded snacks.
As part of the transition, the company will discontinue operations at its Gondal facility and consolidate production at Rajkot to streamline manufacturing operations. According to the company, the move is expected to improve profitability due to lower power costs as the Rajkot facility operates on a boiler-based system.
Gopal Snacks also expects lower transportation expenses because of the plant’s proximity to dealers in the Saurashtra region, along with reduced labour and manufacturing-related costs owing to the facility’s location near ancillary plants.
The company added that its ancillary facilities manufacturing papad, spices and besan were not impacted by the fire and continued operating normally during the disruption period.
Gopal Snacks said the recommencement of the Rajkot facility aligns with its long-term strategy of scaling operations to meet growing consumer demand.
The company is a packaged snacks manufacturer with products spanning namkeen, wafers, extruded snacks, pellets, spices and bakery items. It operates through multiple manufacturing facilities and a wide distribution network across India and overseas markets including Canada, the UAE, the UK and the US.
