J.K. Cement Ltd on Wednesday said it has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Government of Madhya Pradesh for the grant of a mining lease for the Itauri-Jharkua Limestone Block located in the state’s Panna district.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the Madhya Pradesh Mineral Resource Department issued the LoI following the company being declared as the “Preferred Bidder” for the mining lease earlier on March 19, 2026.

The Itauri-Jharkua Limestone Block is situated at villages Itauri and Jharkua in Tehsil Amanganj, District Panna, Madhya Pradesh. The mining lease covers an area of around 349.709 hectares, according to the filing.

J.K. Cement said it received the information regarding the issuance of the LoI on May 19, 2026 at around 5:30 PM IST.

The development is expected to strengthen the company’s long-term raw material security for cement manufacturing operations, as limestone remains a key input for the cement industry.

J.K. Cement is one of India’s leading cement manufacturers with operations across grey cement, white cement and wall putty segments.
