Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured significant EPC orders in the Middle East for setting up extra-high voltage substations.
As per the company’s order classification, ‘significant’ orders fall in the range of ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,500 crore.
The orders have been awarded by prestigious clients in the region and involve the construction of one 380 kV substation and two 132 kV substations. L&T said these high-capacity substations are aimed at ensuring reliable power supply to large load centres while also helping decongest electricity grids amid rising energy demand.
The projects have been awarded to the PT&D business on a turnkey basis and are scheduled to be delivered within stringent timelines.
L&T stated that the PT&D vertical provides integrated EPC services and digital energy solutions spanning transmission and distribution networks, smart grids and last-mile electrification projects. The business caters to utilities, renewable energy developers and industrial customers across more than 30 countries, including regions such as the Middle East, ASEAN, Africa and North America.
The latest order adds to L&T’s growing order inflow momentum in the infrastructure and energy segments. The company has remained active across domestic and international markets, securing projects in renewable energy, transportation, hydrocarbons and urban infrastructure.
Larsen & Toubro, a USD 32 billion Indian multinational, operates across EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services. The company said its technology-driven execution capabilities and customer-focused approach have helped it maintain leadership across several infrastructure segments over the decades.
Meanwhile, shares of Larsen & Toubro remained in focus following the announcement as investors tracked fresh order inflows and the company’s expanding overseas infrastructure pipeline.
