Mahindra Group appoints Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer

Mahindra Group on Wednesday announced the appointment of Purnima Lamba as its Chief Brand Officer, effective September 1, 2026, as the conglomerate looks to strengthen its corporate brand and communications strategy.

According to the company’s press release, Lamba will lead the development and execution of Mahindra Group’s overall brand narrative aligned with the group’s values, vision and long-term business ambitions. She will also oversee brand consistency across Mahindra’s diverse business verticals and drive initiatives aimed at enhancing brand visibility across traditional and digital ecosystems.

Mahindra Group CEO and MD Dr. Anish Shah said the appointment reflects the group’s focus on building a compelling and future-ready brand identity.

“We are pleased to welcome Purnima Lamba as Chief Brand Officer. Her global experience, strategic thinking, bold creativity and deep consumer insight make her an ideal leader to further strengthen the Mahindra brand,” Shah said.

Lamba joins Mahindra Group after nearly 25 years at Unilever, where she held senior leadership roles across India, the UK and the Netherlands. The company said her experience spans strategic brand-building, digital media innovation and consumer engagement initiatives.

The release added that Lamba has played a key role in building tech-enabled beauty experiences and expanding global brand footprints through digital-first strategies.

She holds BSc and MSc degrees in Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Mahindra Group said the appointment aligns with its broader vision of strengthening its purpose-driven identity while scaling its global presence across sectors including automotive, farm equipment, financial services, renewable energy, hospitality and technology.

Founded in 1945, Mahindra Group operates in over 100 countries and employs more than 3.24 lakh people globally.
