RVNL bags NMDC contract worth ₹758 crore for Bacheli capacity expansion works

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) on Friday informed exchanges that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from NMDC Limited for infrastructure development works linked to capacity expansion at Bacheli.

According to the filing, the order involves development of a railway siding near Padnur Village along with bridges, PWD road diversion and associated civil works. The scope also includes preparation of feasibility study reports (FSR), detailed project reports (DPR), detailed engineering, execution and project management consultancy (PMC) services.

The total value of the contract stands at approximately ₹758.07 crore, including GST, and the project is scheduled to be executed over a period of 36 months.

RVNL stated that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity under general contract conditions and falls within the normal course of business of the company.

The latest order comes shortly after RVNL announced that it had emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a separate railway electrification project from West Central Railway worth around ₹244.33 crore. That project relates to upgradation of the electric traction system from 1x25kV to 2x25kV in the Jabalpur Division to support higher freight loading targets.

Unlike the earlier West Central Railway project, where RVNL had only achieved L1 status, the NMDC project marks an actual contract award through a Letter of Acceptance.

RVNL, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, is engaged in execution of railway infrastructure projects including electrification, new railway lines, bridges, metro systems and related transportation infrastructure projects across India.
