Crompton Greaves Consumer Q4 sales rise 11%; exceptional charge drags net profit

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported a consolidated net loss of ₹531 crore for the fourth quarter of FY26, compared to a profit of ₹172 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, largely due to exceptional items during the quarter.
The company’s revenue from operations rose 10.8% year-on-year to ₹2,283 crore in Q4FY26 from ₹2,061 crore in Q4FY25. On a sequential basis, revenue increased 20.3% from ₹1,898 crore in Q3FY26.
EBITDA for the quarter stood at ₹271 crore, up marginally by 1.2% from ₹267 crore a year ago. However, EBITDA margin declined to 11.9% from 13% in the year-ago quarter due to higher material costs and operating expenses.
The company reported an exceptional item charge of ₹716 crore during the quarter, which weighed heavily on profitability. As a result, profit before tax came in at a loss of ₹484 crore compared to a profit of ₹231 crore in Q4FY25.
Excluding exceptional items, profit before tax remained largely stable at ₹232 crore versus ₹231 crore a year earlier. Net profit excluding exceptional items stood at ₹172 crore, almost unchanged compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
Material costs during the quarter increased 14.8% year-on-year to ₹1,562 crore, while employee costs rose 5% to ₹176 crore. Other expenses also increased 6.6% to ₹213 crore.
For the full financial year FY26, the company reported revenue of ₹8,096 crore, up 2.9% from ₹7,864 crore in FY25. EBITDA for the year stood at ₹827 crore compared to ₹901 crore last year, while EBITDA margin declined to 10.2% from 11.5%.
The company posted a net loss of ₹231 crore for FY26 compared to a profit of ₹564 crore in FY25, impacted by the exceptional charge booked during the year. Excluding exceptional items, FY26 net profit stood at ₹502 crore compared to ₹564 crore in the previous year.
