VA Tech Wabag Q4 EBITDA rises 26%; margin remains above 12%

VA Tech Wabag reported a strong set of numbers for the quarter, with revenue, operating profit and net profit registering robust growth on both year-on-year and sequential bases.
The company posted revenue of ₹1,414.40 crore in the quarter, compared to ₹1,156.20 crore in the corresponding period last year, reflecting a growth of 22.33% YoY. Revenue also surged 47.13% sequentially.
EBITDA stood at ₹177.10 crore versus ₹140.80 crore in the year-ago period, marking a rise of 25.78% YoY and 35.19% QoQ. EBITDA margin improved marginally to 12.52% from 12.18% a year ago, though it was lower compared to 13.63% reported in the previous quarter.
Profit before tax excluding exceptional items came in at ₹169.90 crore, compared to ₹131.10 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a growth of 29.60% YoY and 34.84% QoQ.
The company reported profit after tax of ₹128 crore against ₹99.50 crore in the year-ago quarter, up 28.64% YoY and 40.20% sequentially.
PAT after minority interest stood at ₹128.30 crore as against ₹99.50 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting a growth of 28.94% YoY and 39.91% QoQ.
Other income for the quarter came in at ₹12.20 crore compared to ₹11.40 crore in the year-ago period, while it stood at ₹13.70 crore in the previous quarter.
