Vodafone Idea Q4 Results: Reports ₹51,970 crore profit on exceptional gain

Vodafone Idea Limited reported a consolidated net profit of ₹51,970 crore for the fourth quarter of FY26, compared to a loss of ₹5,286 crore in the previous quarter, driven largely by a sharp exceptional gain during the quarter.
The telecom company reported an exceptional gain of ₹51,976 crore in Q4FY26, against an exceptional loss of ₹5,290 crore in the previous quarter.
Before accounting for exceptional items, Vodafone Idea continued to report losses. The company posted a loss before exceptional items of ₹5,515 crore in Q4FY26, compared to a loss of ₹6,368 crore in Q3FY26.
Revenue from operations remained largely stable during the quarter, rising marginally by 0.1% quarter-on-quarter to ₹11,332 crore from ₹11,323 crore.
Operational performance improved modestly during the quarter. EBITDA increased 1.5% sequentially to ₹4,889 crore compared to ₹4,817 crore in the previous quarter.
EBITDA margin also improved to 43.14% in Q4FY26 from 42.54% in Q3FY26.
The company’s Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), a key performance indicator for telecom operators, rose to ₹190 during the quarter compared to ₹175 in Q4FY25, marking a year-on-year growth of 8.3%.
Despite the strong reported quarterly profit due to exceptional gains, Vodafone Idea said the group incurred a loss of ₹24,059 crore before exceptional items and tax for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
The company also disclosed that its consolidated net worth remained negative at ₹35,758 crore as of March 31, 2026.
Vodafone Idea has been undertaking tariff hikes, network investments and subscriber monetisation efforts as it looks to strengthen its financial position amid continued competition in the Indian telecom sector.
