Auto stocks trade mixed on May 14 as Sharda Motor, M&M and Bajaj Auto gain; TVS Motor, Olectra and Ola Electric decline

Automobile stocks traded mixed during the late morning session on May 14, 2026, with the S&P BSE Auto index underperforming the broader market.
As of around 11:38 AM, the S&P BSE Auto index was down 0.51% at 56,731.59. In comparison, the broader market remained positive, with the Nifty 50 rising 0.92% to 23,628.05 and the S&P BSE Sensex gaining 0.76% to 75,173.88.
Among auto sector gainers, Sharda Motor was the top performer, rising 2.24% on the BSE to Rs 875.15 and gaining 2.40% on the NSE. Mahindra & Mahindra also traded higher, advancing 0.78% on the BSE to Rs 3,134.85 and 0.98% on the NSE.
Bajaj Auto gained in the range of 0.95% to 0.99%, trading around Rs 10,360, while Escorts Kubota rose 0.73% to 0.86%. Landmark Cars remained nearly flat on the BSE.
On the losing side, TVS Motor witnessed the sharpest decline in the auto pack, falling 3.10% to 3.26% during the session. Olectra Greentech declined 2.35% to 2.43%, while Ola Electric Mobility slipped 2.08% to 2.24%.
Hero MotoCorp was also under pressure, falling 1.86% to 2.04%. Other auto stocks trading lower included Eicher Motors, Hyundai Motor India, Ashok Leyland, Maruti Suzuki, Force Motors and SML Isuzu.
Overall, the auto sector showed a weak and mixed trend on May 14. While Sharda Motor, Mahindra & Mahindra and Bajaj Auto supported the gainers’ list, losses in TVS Motor, Olectra Greentech, Ola Electric and Hero MotoCorp weighed on the sector index.
